Community Mausoleums: An In-Door, Secure, and Protected Memorial Option
Mausoleums offer enduring peace of mind by preserving the memory, sanctity, and integrity of your and loved ones. A mausoleum crypt offers secure protection, and remains clean and completely dry. Moreover, the burial enclosures (casket and vault) never come in contact with the earth.
Some of the most well-known monuments in history are mausoleums, containing concrete or stone crypts to protect and enclose caskets. Famous above-ground entombment sites include the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Great Pyramids, the Taj Mahal, Westminster Abbey, and the Tomb of Christ.
A Community Mausoleum, more specifically, is an above-ground building that entombs large numbers of people. You choose a space location (or “crypt”) of your preference. You also specify if you want a single or companion (two persons) crypt. Finally, you’ll select the location level. For most families, “eye-level” is most desirable.
For memorialization purposes, community mausoleum crypts reflect your choice of a “crypt plate,” a flat memorial made of various bronze and granite materials. Crypt plates are installed in front of the crypt and can be inscribed with specific personal information, similar to what would be inscribed on an in-ground burial marker or monument memorial.
